I want to do more schooling than usual this summer, but I would like it to be a more relaxed, fun approach–you know, more like it’s supposed to be all year. So today we did some fun science experiments that come free via email and Challenge 1 of www.handbookofnaturestudy.blogspot.com. I really thought it would be a big boring flop but it was amazing! Right in our neighborhood we saw beautiful flowers, a centipede, an uprooted tree, a dead squirrel and bird, mourning doves and a blue jay feather. Looking forward to learning more about the flowers and centipede!

I think you missed something, Melanie. Those things they saw would have been missed normally. However, their mom was with them. Therefore, those things were so very interesting and thought provoking. I especially thought the dead squirrel was interesting. Did Ben point that out to the group as you went on your field trip?
The laid back easy going school is perfect for summer. They won’t even know they are getting educated and will get to spend quality time with their mom.
Thanks, Mom. That’s true. Ben didn’t have to spy the squirrel because we had Daisy with us. LOL
That is so funny. Love those little ones to pieces.
Ooooo, the dead squirrel. Ick. There are a host of things to learn even in a routine walk around the neighborhood.
