Normally when I reference the heart, I am speaking of the spiritual heart. Today, though, I read a story that had me considering the physical heart. I receive an excellent newsletter on digital scrapbooking by Linda Sattgast. She shared the story of her heart attack at the age of 51 here: http://www.scrappersguide.com/heart_attack.html
Years ago that story wouldn’t have been a blip on my mental EKG, but now that I can see 51 up ahead, I’m taking notice. Linda wasn’t overweight, inactive, or a smoker. Neither am I. I hope you will read her story and if you or someone you love has chest pain, insist on a full workup. Better to be embarrassed than to leave your loved ones lost without you.
This Valentine’s Day, take steps to guard your physical heart as well as your spiritual one!
We’ve been studying the human body for school and apparently two of the boys decided they wanted a field trip. The 5yo hit the 11yo with a massage pillow that had hard plastic ends and the 11yo ended up looking like a car accident victim (prior to the clean-up anyway).
I don’t think life has ever been busier here, but it’s good. I’m doing my best to declutter and stay on track with school, church, speaking, and scrapbooking. I am really enjoying a Beth Moore Bible study on Daniel I’m doing, too. I highly recommend it!
Thanks for being patient with my sporadic posting. I wish you a very happy Valentine’s day!
You cut your hair right before Christmas. What four?
You opened all your gifts on the 22nd of December. What four?
You rip holes in your tights and dirty up your shirt sleeves beyond repair. What four?
You hid my favorite pair of black shoes and lose nearly every pair of shoes you have. What four?
You kept your daddy’s wallet hidden in your room while we panicked. What four?
You rip game and playing card boxes to pieces and cut paper and pinch Play-Do into tiny little pieces. What four?
You take your brother’s gum and swallow it and stick slime to the white carpet. What four?
You are our baby, our only daughter, our little dancer, our little mother to your brother, our singer, our artist, our princess, our diva. Even with all the "excitement" you create in our home, what we really can’t believe is that you are four.
Let me explain the cake. I drove all over looking for a cheap Barbie. I obviously made the hole too deep. I think it looks like she’s in a pink army tank. The candles look like the guns. It fits with the battle Miss E’s 4th year has been. 😉
If you’ve wondered where I’ve been, let me just say that Christmas, the stomach flu, redecorating, writing, speaking, church projects, and homeschooling have been all-consuming. I hope to be more regular. I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful 2008.
Snow! The snow postponed our plans to see family this weekend, but it’s been delightful otherwise. Days like this remind me of snuggling in for a day with family or sledding and snowmen. Today I think I will do some cleaning and baking! Hope you’re keeping warm wherever you are.
Thanks to my friend Barbie for her help with this LO. I’ve really enjoyed doing this class and I highly recommend it for people who know basic digital scrapbooking using Photoshop Elements.
I’m a Christian psychologist turned homeschooling mother of six. My life can be a little crazy, so I look for sanity-saving ideas to use and share. I hope you’ll read my About page to learn more.
