Wednesday’s Wonderful List

Wednesday’s Wonderful List

Prayerwarrior

Wednesday was certainly a day to give glory to our Wonderful Counselor. Here's what was wonderful about my Wednesday:

Time to discuss the things of God with my wonderful husband

Time with friends at P.E.

Time at the park with a dear friend to talk about our faith

A nap!

Getting my hair cut and time to encourage my hairdresser who will have surgery for cancer on Tuesday. Add her supernatural peace to your prayers, please!

Got dinner made and everyone fed before 6.

A time to talk about God's incredible creation during my son's confirmation class. I am so thankful that my child and I know the truth and I pray that others will, too.

Listening to our audio book together as a family.

Ending the day reading my book on prayer. I have offered my body to Christ as a living sacrifice. I am so relieved to know that I don't have to worry about my body anymore because it belongs to God.

Tuesday’s Terrific List

Reading

It really has been a terrific Tuesday. Here's what made my day:

Got loads of laundry done

New approach of cleaning 10 minutes per floor as a family is working like a charm (after we prayed about it)

Got to eat Oreos and milk for the first time in decades

Got to see my friend Shannon in good spirits after sleeping well. Thank you, Lord!

Had an incredible school day. I taught as long as a public school teacher! I was in awe that the kids worked hard all day–even after lunch–without being told

Spent lots of time training Daisy today. She's responding to the stay command well so far!

I got a lot of important details taken care of

Had a nice dinner and enjoyed watching Biggest Loser with Grandpa

Loved seeing the kids reading before bed. It helps that Dad has promised the reluctant readers a chocolate shake! The oldest complained he never gets one (he is an avid reader) – LOL

Have a terrific day tomorrow! Wednesdays are days that I devote specifically to prayer. If I can pray for you, please comment or email and let me know how I can pray.

Mountain Moving Monday

Mountain Moving Monday

Mondays can be hard so I am designating them as days to move the obstacles in my way by faith. I may have moved only a little mountain of laundry today but I moved a big mountain of fear. I was able to enjoy playing tennis with no anxiety.

One mountain in my life is consistency in schooling. Today was very rewarding that way. The kids loved their lessons and I did too. I enjoyed playing personal trainer to them as well.

My new approach to some mountains is to see them as from the Lord. No writers group tonight meant I had time to enjoy my family and move a mountain of unused toys out of my basement.

Of course mountain movers need their sleep so that’s what I aim to get. Have a mountain moving day!

Sacred Sunday List

IMG_6441

For me, Sundays are about what is sacred. Beginning the day
by praying about the upcoming church service was rewarding. So often I have
had expectations about what the service should be like and what I should get
out of it, but I haven’t prayed! Today’s service was exactly what I needed. I
was conscious of trying to greet friends and to find out how they’re doing. I
enjoyed a good laugh when my 3yo went nuts when an Elmo was prayed for. He kept
repeating Elmo and said, “I like that!”

Cooking for my family was another sacred part of my day. I
started off making dh (and myself) my favorite coffee drink and then made
something new (cream cheese and raspberry tarts).  We had a delicious lunch of sprouted hot dog
buns spread with pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni and mozzarella toasted in the
oven. My dd and I grocery shopped today and I decided that next week I would
like to get my shopping done on Saturday if possible to reserve Sundays for
more relaxed activities. I made another apple pie this afternoon that I am
convinced would have won the pie contest last week. LOL The kids thought so
too!

I am so thankful to God on this sacred Sunday for the many
blessings I have: a healthy family, a continuing restoration of my health, spiritual
growth in me and my family, a loving church home, and God’s abundant provision.
May all your Sundays be sacred, too.

Sweet Saturday List

P9180332

Some of my best Saturday memories are of enjoying cinnamon
rolls and hot chocolate with my dad at a restaurant. Because I’m able to enjoy
eating restaurant food again, I decided to start our practice of having special
time with one child on a Saturday. What a sweet way to start the day! My 7yo
and I enjoyed a tasty breakfast at Waffle House. I blogged more about that
experience on WonderWomen.

We enjoyed a sweet afternoon playing tennis and Frisbee golf
at the park and a sweet evening of homemade fries and wings.

My older boys were sweet to help me clean out the back
storage room after dinner and we enjoyed a sweet evening listening to our book
on tape while I gave haircuts. The savings I have from doing our family’s haircuts
(I taught myself using a book) are certainly sweet. Hope your day is sweet,
too!

Fun Friday List

MarkNick

As long as I can remember, I have associated Fridays with fun. So much so that I've gotten depressed if I had nothing fun to do on a Friday! There was no risk of that today. Here's what was fun about today:

My dd had a fun gymnastics class. She looked so grown up to me today and she was so obedient. Now THAT'S fun!

We had an outrageously fun day at a fossil museum and hiking trail. I don't know if I have ever experienced more beautiful weather in my life. My friend was aghast to see me eating wheat crackers. I guess I forgot to tell her that I can now eat anything I want!

I had fun talking smack with my neighbor who won the pie baking contest. She insists that she didn't even know what kind of apples to use. She just got "lucky."

What's more fun than having your dh home after a week? Not much!

The fun continued as we watched the older boys play flag football and then went out for a delicious dinner.

We are ending the evening listening to one of our Audible books, Catching Fire.

Wishing you a very fun day, too!
